It's a Down Week. . .

A slow, but nice, off weekend is upon us. Of course, next weekend, we'll host the hated Tide. For those too young to remember or understand, this IS the biggest game on the schedule. It's been THE rivalry even before most of us followed the Vols, and before some of us were even out of diapers, for that matter.

Get rested, Orange Brethren. Let's be ready to deliver our message to the Crimson Turd when it visits K-town next week. We're coming off a huge win in little-Athens, and it's time to take back our home.

I'm part of that younger generation that perhaps doesn't fully understand the Alabama rivalry...

Today when I was in Kroger, wearing a Tennessee hat of course, I meet an older gentleman also wearing a Tennessee hat walking down the same aisle. He acknowledged my hat and said, "You think we'll beat 'Bama?" I responded, "Yeah, I really think we will." He came back with, "Boy, I hope so. I can't stand'em."

Good stuff I thought.
