Auburn's defense is better than what they showed last night, IMO. But all it takes is a mark in the W column.
I completley disagree. That was a primetime game and EVERYONE was watching. Auburn lost HUGE on the style meter, W's like that are "L's" when it comes down to two undefeated teams that may end up playing for the second spot in a national championship game.
Alot of people are now talking about AU being overrated. That factors in when a voter is calling in his votes.
Three comments.
First, this will hurt Auburn. They may not drop in the polls, but this game was nationalyl televised and was the only thing on. If a three-way tie does develop at the end of the year, Auburn just locked the door behind them and they are on the outside looking in.
Second, this is scary for those of us playing SC. They got close and surely gained some confidence. They really moved the ball in that last 6 minutes of that game and that was Spurrier opening things up.
Third, I was impressed when, at the end of the game, the camera panned around in the stands and the SC fans were clapping and cheering. Despite losing, at home, to an SEC competitor, their fans realized that the program is improving and on the way up. Nice to see some appreciation, despite the loss.
That's why they play the games on the field brother. Coaches have to get the guys ready to play!!! As the dude in Bonnie & Clyde said "I ain't afraid"!!!!!I am thouroghly convinced that if UT cannot replicate the effort from the Cal game when the Vols play the Gamecocks, Spurrier's dominance over Fulmer will continue. The Gamecocks looked scary good and they were just as close to taking out AU as UT was to taking out UF, maybe closer.
