Fires from Canada?
It’s been hazy here (Asheville) the last few mornings, but then cleared off by 10.

I don’t follow TV weather news, so it didn’t register on me, but today we’re under an air quality alert, and the air smells “funny.” Not like our usual clean mountain air.

I’ve been outside more than usual this week since it was cooler than normal. I had a crew of house painters here M-F and they didn’t seem bothered. Personally, I haven’t noticed any weird smell or taste in the air. Visibility has been normal and I’ve not had any issues with coughing, mucus membrane irritation, or breathing. I know local news has reported a lot on the the fires in Canada and I suspect there’s probably some real effect on people with severe respiratory issues and a lot of psychosomatic symptoms percolating amongst the hordes of neurotic people. All that said, I am in Green Hills so maybe the government is making sure the rich folks get the good air. ;)

We're in early 70s. DW has lung problems, and had to take steroids for covid. I don't have problem, but could tell a difference in the air Sat morning.
Green Hills. Nice part of town.
