The horizon is upon us! That feeling of Football in the greatest stadium in the world. The sight of the sun rising over the hill, placing an orange sky above us. The sight of thousands walking up the strip in a rolling motion that looks like a flag waving in the breeze. The sounds of chatter, beer glasses clanging, the ever so sweet melody of Rocky Top playing, and being around 100,000 of our closest friends and family that we've never met! The sight of our own Navy being docked for battle!
The smells from the tailgates that let us know its finally that time! The GO VOLS from our brothers and sisters! And the banter and smack talking from our foes. The time is almost upon us to line the street and experience the VOL WALK that will bring in a new regime, season, and sense of hope. Then to walk through that gate, the gate I've walked through numerous times, but always knowing that first walk of the year will bring a tear to the eye. The anticipation from the year before to get back. The expectation of greatness, the sight of that green grass, the checkerboards and that bright beautiful power T! The pride starting off pregame, from the USA to the running through the T! Its that time! Its time for hitting... its time this program is ressurrected! To RISE from the ashes and back TO THE TOP! And not just any top, but the ROCKY TOP!
It's time to show that the outside of our hallowed grounds aren't the only bricks that have been laid. Time to make the country pay for our struggles one hit at a time. Time to bury our recent past and failures and show the future starts now! We will never back down! We are VOLUNTEERS! We became such by volunteering to fight in wars for our country, and now we prepare to bring a war to all of college football! We know we may lose some battles along the way, but we refuse to lose the war! We will win! We will be victorious! We will conquer and overcome! We will prevail! When all is said and done, we will still be the TENNESSEE VOLS and in my eyes, heart, mind, body, and soul there is nothing in college sports better! August 31st ladies and gentlemen! Time for thst one feeling only Neyland can bring! It's FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!
