i like that martin seems to be doing whatever to put us in a better chance to win games but how confusing are these subs and lineup changes??

First, miller goes mia after pitt then comes in today??
We wrote washpun off and then he comes in today too.

Also, wasnt marquette wanting maymon to play the 5 a big reason why he and his dad wanted him out of there? I think it had something to do with them thinking he'd be a lottery pick and playing an undersized center would screw that up. Maybe he grew up and decided he'd rather win games instead of a nba draft.

I just wonder if he keeps this up or was just interested in throwing fresh bodies at a thin uconn roster

playing time can be earned in practice.

So what? This is basketball, players have up and down games. CCM is trying to get the players on the floor that will put the W on the board. Although I blieve Stokes is going to be great, the other teams do not have any film to study his tendancies. He is a beast, but just like Jordan, he needs his Pippen and the rest of the team to do their part.

I think Miller's presence today represented CCM wanting an extra fresh body to bang with Drummond and Oreaki. With that said though, why no Yemi?

Is the goal of VN to find the most outrageous things possible to complain about?

Noone says

"wow, Stokes is great!" instead it's "well, he will only be here for one year"

"wow, Coach Martin beat UCONN" instead it's "why does he keep tweaking the lineup, I'm confused?"

I'll be sure to let Coach Martin know, that he is no longer allowed to make subs or lineup changes as he sees fit depending on how well a player plays in practice or matches up against our upcoming opponent.

Miller probably earned some minutes over Yemi in practice. It isn't like Yemi has solidified his spot or anything.

Maymon is nowhere near fast enough to be a great 3. Unfortunately for his NBA future, he's just an undersized 4 who wanted to be a 3 in the past, but finally came to the realization that he is better off banging down low. He'll make some money overseas.

I love this team and their effort. In 5 games now since starting SEC play, we are 2-3, but we have played some of the best defense I can remember seeing out of a UT basketball team. Once we get a gaurd who can facilitate his own offense, watch out.

1. I think it was gonna be either Miller or yemi getting a few minutes to bang down low. My guess is just miller showed something in practice that CCM liked for the matchup.

2. He said on the pre game show he wanted to get Wes some minutes at the point to pressure Napier because with no Ryan boatright he is their only true PG. unfortunately Wes comes in and gets it stolen, that was the end of him for the day. That's why he doesn't start all you golden bashers.

3. I think when maymon retooled his body in the off season he realized he is best suited for post. He knew he had the opportunity for big minutes and it'd be at the post position so he bought in. I will say you can see he does honestly have good handles for a big man and that top of the key drive is tough for a big man to guard. The other note here, maymon was 180 lbs when he signed with Marquette, clear why he didn't want to play post, he is now 265. SERIOUSLY LOOK UP A PICTURE OF HIM YOU WON'T RECOGNIZE HIM.

No problem with the thread. Good discussion.

I think part of it was "Okay, show me what you got" kind of day, because we were going to need everybody.

He has eight guys set IMO. He wants another big man, and that will be between Yemi/Renaldo/Dwight depending on the matchup IMO, and Wes might get a few minutes if he improves his ball handling.

Best way to get your team to practice hard is to let them earn their minutes from hard work.

Novel idea isn't it?

Yea big man could change every game just depending on how the practice. The 4th post is getting 4 minutes or so right now so not to big of a deal.
