Hello VolNation,
I have enjoyed reading the threads leading up to the season. Very informative. I am happy to be a part of the VolNation. Now that the workweek is offically over, I think we can say that Cal week is FINALLY here and make the declaration we have all been waiting a very long offseason for. It's Football Time In Tennessee!! Let's hope The BIG ORANGE has their rifles loaded for bear come Sept. 2. GO VOLS!

Those famous words spoken by John Ward: "It's football time in Tennessee!" Next we hear the Pride of the Southland Band play our favorite song- "Rocky Top!"
Some people turned down the sound on the TV and turned up the radio to listen to John Ward call the BIG ORANGE games. "Give him six! Touchdown, BIG ORANGE!"
I foresee anywhere no worse than 8-4. Pivotal games-Cal, Florida, Georgia, Bama and LSU. South Carolina may not be a pushover either. If the Vols come out 3-1 after the first 4 homes games it could be an interesting season. A 4-0 start might shake up the SEC! There are 3 pivotal games in the first six. GO VOLS! Sic'em Smokey!

I totally agree with your above mentioned games as being pivotal. let's not overlook the hogs though. I have a feeling the Arkansas game there may be one of our toughest.

Can't wait till i go to UT next fall so i can finally witness a live football game in neyland stadium!

As Bob Bell once said, "People who haven't been to Knoxville on a football Saturday can't understand the experience. It's excitement beyond description."

I am glad you get to experience the excitement this weekend.

GO BIG ORANGE

You are in for one of those great moments you will remeber all your life. Best of luck at UT. Be sure to get there early enough to experience the VOL walk and be sure and see the Pride of the Southland make their grand entrance as they march down toward the stadium playing ROCKY TOP! When the pride raises Rocky Top a key, Man, this will cause the hairs to raise up on the back of your neck! This should be a great opening game atmosphere with a top team like Cal coming in. Enjoy and let us know what you think of the game!!

What is the timeline for the Vol Walk, the band arriving, etc. ?

The Volwalk has in the past began 2:15 before kickoff. The band starts down 2 hrs before the kick. You can go to utsports.com and click on football and there on the right you will find a link to fan game day activities. This is updated every Wed before home games with exact times.

Yeah your right we cant leave Arkansas out. I think our toughest though will be UGA. We need to win that game. I have a lot of UGA fans in my family & they have had it good for a couple of years. Its time get a W against them
