During the offseason everything on the basketball forums is peaceful and upbeat, yet during the first game all the negativity comes from people who you dont see during the spring and summer. I guess it spills over from the football forums, but its amazing to see people jump to conclusions and make claims about players after the first game of the season. People already hating on Mcbee, Hall, ETC....It just drives me crazy. Agree? Disagree??

Most people have unrealistic expectations. Also, you have a lot of box score posters who don't watch much of the game, look what happens by looking at the box score and then commenting.

Anyone with half a brain would know 90% of teams start off with these warm up games to get back in the mix of things. You can scrimmage and practice all you want but it's never the same until the real stuff happens and the lights come on. I'd prefer the type of game we had last night. All those mental breakdowns and mistakes will do wonders when Martin and staff break it down on film. We are likely less than two weeks from playing a top 10 team so any type of adversity and problems is welcomed right now.

It was much like last year when the team beat Vandy and had a chance at the tournament...posters appeared out of nowhere, new threads that asked the same thing that was already being talked about popped up every 30 seconds...it was crazy.

IMO I would rather have a game like we had last night, than just blowing them out like they were when it was 61-34. They could have put their foot on the gas and easily pulled away, but what good does that do in the long run. They got some experience closing out a game and a wake up call and some film to watch before they fly out to Puerto Rico. I'd expect to see a different team next week, because coach Zo didn't look very happy last night.

And it was nice seeing mcbee actually drive in and try to shoot. Got him to the line. He looks automatic this year.

Mcbee seems to be alot more confident, and that probably has to be with CCM and the team having more confidence in him. I was glad to see him dribble and pull up a few shots. Expanding his game is good for him, and the team. It makes him that much more dangerous.

At this point in the year CCM is trying to figure out which lineup is going to give him the best chance. Not only the starters, but also which lineups mesh well with starts and bench players combined. What we saw the other night will not be our lineup all year most likely. Some people will get more and some less playing time, obviously. Golden and Stokes will start to score more as the offense figures everything out. All teams are in a stage of figuring out who they are right now. I am looking forward to basketball season this year (as i am every year), but the forums can be so frustrating, especially when you see people posting stuff that makes no sense.

I'm really proud of Martin because he advocates recycling. Glad he's our coach.

I'm really proud of you for stil being Volnation's most idiotic poster in the history of the site (and that's is saying A LOT). We get it, we understand you don't know what your talking about, we get it that you don't like OUR coach. For some reason no one knows why? You will go down in history as starting the most epic of a fail thread. Congrats VN is proud of you, troll..

It shows the true intelligence of somone that calls me an idiot because he doesn't know why I've been disappointed in Martin's coaching ability. All you have to do is read.

There are 8 posters that hang out in the basketball forum, and they appear to have some relationship together. Anyone that challenges Martin's awesomness is labeled an idiot and a hater.

Incorrect. Anyone that backs up outlandish claims with BS usually gets flamed. That's actually only you.

I find it amusing to watch you keep playing them like a fiddle. Keep it up because in these economic times we need a little humor to keep from crying.

Wow. You usually have very reasonable posts. Why would you encourage an obvious troll?

I think its a lil premature for anyone to be judging any of these SEC teams by their first game of the season. We looked piss poor last Friday but its just a matter of time b4 both UK and UT start to get the ball rolling. Come conference play both teams will be a well oiled machine. UT more than UK but our guys have no idea how to play with these new team mates and few know how to run Cals style of offense. UT on the other hand have already bought into CM style of play form last year and are ahead of UK atm.

No no no, I've seen all I need to see to know this year is going to be terrible. I have a VERY clear understanding of how good we are as a team right now, and it's worse than the worst basketball I've ever seen in my 230 years here on Earth.

Sincerely,
UT IE
