Until this year, it would have been impossible to convince any Vol fan over 50 that Nov 7th would come without a single SEC victory. My how things have changed . We Vol fans continue to lower the bar for UT coaches and players and they continue to trip over it. I hear fans who wanted to burn Fulmer at the stake if we lost 2 SEC games in one year now say things like " well, at least we were in the game til the 4th quarter" Apparently winning the game is just too much to hope for. This is sad and must not go on anymore. This is still UT- one of the top ten FB programs alltime. We have tolerated this loser mentality too long.

You shouldn't be surprised. That's been Dooley's MO. Thus we call him Mr. November.

Blame the fans that ran Fulmer out of town. It's their fault

I think the fans who are stating the bolded passage are mostly people who were too young to really sink their teeth into the glory years and they'll pretty much settle for whatever they see.

It is now the afternoon of November 7th. Did we have a game today? If we did, I missed it. Who did we play? Good game? Did Dooley walk out without his stick?

did you post this last year at this same time? We did not have an SEC victory at this point last year either.. so I doubt it would have been very hard to convince someone of it. :)

Larry,
If Derek loses one more, is he gone? I know Gruden is out and Kirby has moved down. So who are the top 2-3 choices at this point? Strong in the mix you think?

Thanks!

may not even take a loss.. Strong is consideration but there is no top 2-3 yet. decision had not been made to pursue so not a lot of checking has happened tot his point. just with the rock star

i hate to say this, but it isn't very surprising.

tennessee has played 5 sec games.

the two home games were against teams that tennessee had a 5+ game losing streak.

then, there were three away games. tennessee's last sec road win against someone not named vanderbilt and kentucky was in 2007.

not very shocking

Thank you for that statistical nugget of obvious minutiae.
