Deservedly so... not just anyone can carve up a Pac Ten defense in route to a game-winning tD.

UCLA's defense was sixth in the country (I think) and is still tenth... So, from a statistical standpoint, yeah it was fairly impressive. That last drive was the only time I flipped away from the Bama game. UCLA missed a few tackles, but ND threw down a lot of good blocks and generally executed to perfection. Quinn would have picked apart any defense in the nation on that last drive.

UCLA has played Stanford, Arizona, Rice, and Utah.

The two decent offenses they have played, Oregon and Notre Dame, have put up 420+ and 380+ yards against them. As UCLA starts to play more decent offenses, they'll even out to about where they should be.

Utah - 328.6 ypg
Rice - 321.8 ypg
Washington - 363.5 ypg
Stanford - 233.8 ypg
Arizona - 245.8 ypg
Oregon - 460.9 ypg
Notre Dame - 375.3 ypg

Some decent offenses, save Zona and Stanford.

Keep in mind what UGA's was as well. Look at who they've played and the numbers on teams like Vandy and MSU of all teams....

Georgia hasn't faced nearly the same level of offense UCLA has... Yeah, UCLA's faced generally mediocre-ish offenses, some decent ones. But Georgia? Yeah, they played us. We've got a good offense. But other than that, Western Kentucky, South Carolina, UAB, Colorado, Mississippi, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State. South Carolina's offense is okay, but that is a list of unquestionably terrible offensive teams.

Yeah, the fact that UCLA sacked Quinn 5 times throughout the game, provided constant pressure by sending blitzes, but, at the end, quit sending pressure had nothing at all to do with the drive. What a crock.

Troy Smith has it locked up anyways.

I thought Quinn played an outstanding game. However, the Heisman is Smith's to lose...So get ready for the Heisman race after Smith's choke job this weekend against Minnesota!

Didn't Minnesota struggle to beat North Dakota State? And I'm pretty sure Cal's passing game killed them. This will get ugly for Minny.

10-9 over ND State. I just have a feeling that Smith will throw two picks, Pittman will put the ball on the carpet, and some Minnesota returner will score. One of those games...

If it means Tennessee fans will stop complaining about something that happened 9 years ago, I hope it does happen.

Are you sure about that? UCLA's defense last year was pathetic. I don't see how they have improved that much. I bet USC and Cal will put up some points on them.

The stats are what they are. Cal vs. UCLA will probably be a shootout. I see USC being a 17-10 type affair.

Give Quinn the heisman and send him on his way. It will be a small price to play if we never have to hear his name again.

It will mean we have to hear "Heisman-winner Brady Quinn" every day after college football.

He's gonna get drafted. He probably won't pan out... But he will be drafted. And barring a major meltdown the rest of the season, probably in the first round.
