How some of you guys were claiming that Dobbs or Peterman were the best thing since sliced bread 3 months ago, but now all we see are posts about how bad they suck.

Particularly Dobbs at the moment, but Peterman up until the UF game.

Bla, bla, bla smug nips. Why not play the back-up if the starter sucks?

The point was what the OP described is the nature of fans, and it's happened a lot lately at UT.

Remember in 2006? People said Crompton should start over Ainge, and then he had a great game against LSU and it just fueled it, then we get to 2008 and Crompton couldn't do jack?

The last 2 years people wanted Worley in over Bray. We get Worley this year and people first clamoured for Peterman and that was a disaster. Then Worley gets hurt, Dobbs has a "good" half against Alabama and suddenly he's the new star at UT. Dobbs has been subpar ever since.

And to answer your question, probably because the backup sucks more. Hence why he is the backup. Do people think the coaches don't know who the best option at QB is? Seriously?

how can a division one QB only have 14 yards total passing for the game until the last 2 desperate throws w 16 seconds to go?!! is that really the best we can do? playing to not complete yet another pass to vandy? their defensive backs caught more passes from dobbs than a few of our receivers did. we are down to riley. let's give him a try. what's the worst that can happen at this point????

Everyone thought Worley was the problem. He is not. He isn't on McCarron/Manziel/Murray level but he is a QB that knows how to get a team to the end. He is very under appreciated by most fans.

Both players and coaches were mediocre at best. Hate to say it, but CJF did more with less tonight, again.

I'll eat my crow. I thought Dobbs was the man for the job. I was obviously mistaken... however, hindsight is 20/20, and you act like you've never been excited for a big recruit/player that flopped.
