I don't know how many of you all have XM/Sirius, but as I was driving around yesterday I heard an interview with Bruce Pearl on espn or espnxtra where he said that he plans to be a UT as long as we will have him.
With the recent need a shower feeling the the last football coaching staff left me with I truly appreciate a succesful UT coach with that sentiment.

The last football staff left me with the need for a chemical peel, not a shower.

I don't trust that at all. I don't know him that well, but I'd be stunned if a guy with Pearl's personality spent his career in Knoxville if he had other options.

The interviewer kinda laughed at him when he said it calling the statement, "a coaching opportunity death sentence" or something like that. Pearl laughed and said he didn't care. Take it for what it's worth and maybe one day he does go somewhere else, but at least if he did he could honestly say that he really did leave UT better than he found it....unlike some.

He seems truly grateful for the opportunity Ut has given him and said he sees similiar things in CDD. That kind of loyalty (if true) is one of the more magnificant intangibles in collage sports.

Who knows, maybe the football team adopts the back against the wall attitude that has served the basketball team so well in recent weeks.

sh@t!!!! College not collage, although the scrap booking arts are a fierce battleground of paste and paper.

According to some "qualified" posters on the board, BC would never sink so low as to offer our inferior coach the job. So we should not have to worry about BP leaving.

don't be silly. Skinner is a moron. BP would be an enormous upgrade.

Who can say how long Pearl will be at UT? No one here.

But in today's transitory environment, if he offers 5-10 years of the type of service that he's given thus far, can fans expect anything more?

I''m new to this board and this is only my 3rd post but I feel the need to "Amen" the positive and correct things being said about CBP...if his love wasn't for our Vols he'd already been gone, his status as a successful coach is not just a local secret...I"ve had the privilege to attend a practice or two this season and they are extremely intense,no wonder our guys were capable of elevating their play when our numbers dropped??? The kind of energy and passion BP projects needs to be bottled and sold,he'd never need to work for another dollar. I am deeply grateful for the job he has done and continues to do....he's a great role model for my son and for other aspiring coaches....

Bruce is genuine. he has had Iowa and Memphis gauge his interest and said no thanks to both. Iowa is where he learned under Dr. Tom Davis and Memphis offered more money. If he turned those 2 options down where else would he go? Maybe Boston College and thats about it and Im not so sure that Tennessee isnt a better program these days because of what Pearl has built. TBA has legitemately become a fierce home court advantage.
