Butch Jones is gonna succeed. I hated how his first year played out, but i think he makes it up next year and beyond. I have complete faith in CBJ and I think he's got what it takes. He's gonna get UT back folks.

I think this coming year with scheduling Oaklahoma will be similar to this year. Great talent coming in but they are young. I think the 2015 season will be the break out year

I think we get Florida and either SC, UGA, or Mizzou. I also think next year begins our reign over Vandy again. 6 or 7 wins.

I hope your right bro. Im like you I really do believe that Butch is the man for the job. We just need to be patient as fans and give Butch and his staff time to get all the pieces on the board

Yes, i started this thread while drinking, but i really do believe it's gonna happen. I honestly think he was overwhelmed with the first year schedule, but he'll be ready in year 2. The JUCO's we brought in are gonna help tremendously and i think we go 7-5 or better.

No offense, but a sunshine pumping post like this really means nothing. All it says is that your a big fan who is just hoping for better things like many other Vol fans.

Other than one really good recruiting class, Butch & Co. have shown us absolutely nothing to justify your unbridled optimism. It will take at least one or two more classes like this one, plus drastically better player development, motivation and game day coaching to get us back to our traditional level of success. I hope Butch can get us there, but he's gonna have to do much better than he's shown thus far.

I'll wait and see rather than get all excited because a member of the orange tinted glasses crowd on this board has a "feeling". I wish I had a dollar for every overly optimistic post I've seen on this board that started out with "I have a feeling".

My hope is for 6-7 wins. My expectation is for 5-6.

We're bringing in loads of talent, but at the end of the day we'll be playing mostly 18-20 year olds against teams full of 21-23 year olds.

Whatever the outcome, I have a feeling we come away from next season feeling a lot better than we did coming away from this one.

I write the same thing in every thread about expectations for next year and I'll say it again just for fun. Great coaching doesn't hide itself long. If he is the guy for the job, you will see vast improvement next season, even if it isn't in the win collumn. I think he will either assert himself as great next season, or he will just be a steppingstone for depth for the next coach.

Butch Jones is prodding and poking, trying his best to wake the sleeping giant that is UT. Other things are also working in his favor like a recent surge in talent across TN over the last few years. Not only that, but I think he mended over some of those bridges that were burned with some regional high schools that Dooley, Kiffin, and (debately) Fulmer recruited over the previous 5-6 years. One thing I will be keeping a close eye on is attrition rate with the classes he has personally brought in, namely the 2014 class. He keeps saying that he is recruiting a different player to TN so . . . Will we see a difference in the attrition rate %? If what he has done with the academic side of things is a sign of things to come, then I say yes!

Actually he showed us that he can beat a ranked opponent, instill confidence in a previously terrible kicker, and that he can make the team better over the season until he loses his starting quarterback. Had we still had Worley I think we would have won the Vandy game and some better against Mizzou. I have reason to believe he'll turn the ship around while people like you ignore that evidence.
