Saw Izzy at game when the academics were honored. No crutches, big smile on her face, limping badly. I'm no doctor and don't know how to read that, but at least she wasn't on crutches.

Hey smallvol that's very encouraging news. I've been thinking that most acl injuries I've seen happen when the athlete makes a sudden stopping motion, plants their foot, but their knee goes in the opposite direction. Izzy wasnt moving her legs, but rather the opponent rolled into her. And with acl injuries you usually see crutches and big ice bags wrapped around their knee as well..maybe this is one of those instances that look worse than it actually is. Anyone remember the very hard landing Strickland had a few years back?? Ya that was horrible looking, but she was out there playing the next game

Candace Parker also had a bad injury at Mississippi State, and played the next game too.

I think she will be out for a few games, but will be ok.

I know we have all been worrying about izzy, but what about jones? I didn't even see the play she got hurt in..just don't want to forget about jones..hopes she's ok too

Thank God! She probably will be a little sore the next few days
We should be ok without her the next 2 or 3 games.

JJ will be fine. She was back on the bench last night laughing. It may be a slight concussion, but nothing too serious I don't think.

We thought the Penn girl hit her with an arm/elbow to head; I read somewhere that it was head to head. She came back after half time with her earrings in, so we knew she would not play any more that game.

I think Izzy's looked so much worse that everyone has been concentrating on her, but you're right. We don't want to forget about her.

I am somewhat concerned about 2015 recruitment. We have two very good guards, but where is the big girl? We have two scholarships that are available. Kalani Brown is headed to Baylor so that ship has sailed. I have read where several fans seemed to think that some of the big girls do not want to be a Lady Vol because they might have to sat for a year. UCONN recruits do not seem to have a problem with that issue. Are we placing far too much hope on the brand to recruit players? I believe that there is far to much competition for that.

Uconn is winning championships, so that might have a lot to do with how well they are recruiting right now..as far as Tennessee recruiting goes, I think holly is doing a fine job. I worried about how much the recruitment would drop off after coach summitt retired, but honestly I don't think there has been much drop off. pat summitt herself had down years on recruiting and I don't expect holly to pull out top 3 classes each year. My concern is how holly will manage all that talent she will have next year.

should have gone after the 6'9" girl in Texas more, IMHO. She committed to OKLA.....

We are recruiting players, that want to be here, represent the Lady Vols, and play the Lady Vols's way, we are not for everyone, it up to the coaches, to find talented and coachable players who want to be a lady vol more than else any on earth.

Now we are starting to get our own fair share, people get caught up in rankings, our staff is not, they recruiting competitors and hard workers. Our recruiting is fine and I'm glad we are starting to use the redshirt year, to help players develop.

Actually, we did the sum outstanding recruiting this year, to allow two of our best players or potential best player an opportunity to rest and heal, those ladies played a lot of basketball, can't wait to see them both, healthy, so those redshirt years, is recruiting. So Now, not having or securing a post in this class, isn't so bad.

Izzy, Nia (have to see how she plays against a quality opponents), as well as the whole team, but I like what I'm seeing so far. Izzy turnovers, but other than that she still looked explosive.

I'm not sure! She would have been a huge project! Granted, she did beat out Brown (not sure what that says about her!!) for the USA team, but her skill set is limited at best. The only thing she has going for her is her height! There are good reasons that none of the top schools recruited her heavily. I know you can't teach height, but sometimes there has to be more to go with the height advantage.

I remember Holly talking last year (maybe year and half) about our current freshman, and a JUCO player was in the running, never heard anymore. With her talking about JUCO then, I believe they are an option for her always.
