J.J. Hickson

Probably not, he's averaging about 15 and 9 and playing more minutes than he would here.

Basketball is a different monster from a recruiting standpoint than football. Recruiting is much less regional, especially for the powerhouse programs, and usually personal relationships from coach to coach, coach to mom, and coach to player hold a lot more weight than in football. To answer the question posed by the thread; I seriously doubt J.J. Hickson has any remorse for leaving the state. That's why he didn't sign with UT.

JJ was from Georgia anyway, not Tennessee.

But we could possibly be the consensus #1 team if we had him inside this year. Would be even more awesome (which doesn't seem possible).

Much better than J.P.! Hickson is a center, Prince a forward/ wing. We would be #1 in the nation with Hickson, IMO!

the reason I posed the question is that the Woldpack are not relevant right now and we are. He always struck me as a kid that craved the spotlight and he'd be in it on the Hill. And anyone that thinks he wouldnt play for us is delusional, he'd start right now.

Over who? Wayne Chism or Tyler Smith? He went to N.C. State because he knew he could play right away.

Actually not. When he chose NcSt. Tyler Smith was still at Iowa and Wayne Chism wasn't exactly an All-American. NCSt. on the other hand had Ben McCauley and Brandon Costner starting at the 4 and the 5. If he really wanted more immediate playing time he'd get it here. If it wasn't for Coster showing the ability to play the 3 he wouldn't even start for the Pack this season. He chose Nc St. because Sidney Lowe has experience as a NBA coach and would prepare Hickson for the league.
