Arencibia hit 2 HRs yesterday. You would like to see him walk more but damn he's got some power.

Arencibia just hit his 13th HR in AA which pushes his total to 26 on the year.

I heard the Jays weren't committed to keeping him at catcher, has anyone heard anything about that?

Because he could easily push out Greg Zaun for the #1 catcher's spot at some point.

i've heard he'll be a DH or 1B, but it won't surprise me if he sticks at catcher.

He only had one hit during his time in Spring Training, but it was a two run home run. He has be assigned to the minor league camp. He'll start the season in AAA Las Vegas.

J.P. started off slow, but is really starting to pick it up.

Last night's line:
3-3, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 BB, 2 Runs

He has been mashing in May, with all 7 of his homeruns comings this month.

but only 1 walk in april and walked about 3.5% of his at bats last season. I'm still not a believer in him yet.

Just a little update from AAA. Tonight in Fresno, he went 3-5 with a grand slam, 2 doubles, 5 RBIS, and 3 Runs.

On the season, he has 22 doubles, 17 HRs, 44 RBIs, .303 BA, .602 SLG, and a .955 OPS. He is among the leaders in pretty much every offensive statistic in the PCL.

Lots of speculation that Toronto will trade John Buck and call up J.P. Hopefully he is up sooner rather than later.

Good to hear he's doing well! I had a class with JP. Hell of a nice guy. he went out of his way to say hey to me outside of class, and always remembered my name.
