"Earnhardt has struggled this season, posting five top-10 finishes. He is currently 11th in the point standings, 229 behind leader Jimmie Johnson.

After finishing third in the season-opening Daytona 500, Earnhardt scored three consecutive finishes outside the top 20. However, in the past seven races he hasn't finished worse than 15th."

Not exactly "roll over" material. It's not like his son has become Dick Trickle.

He'll be in the hunt by the end of the year.....I mean they've only ran 11 races out of what? 36 or 37 this year? He has plenty of time to get it turned around and when him a few races this year and hopefully win him a championship....This may be what is best for him because I don't believe him and Rondeau got along all that well....We'll have to see how it works out though

I'm in a pick'em contest in a couple of places and I don't pick Jr. as much as I did last year. Don't bet on him being in the chase. I think he'll end up 11th or 12th. He'll get a 3 or 4 races where he won't finish higher than 15th. I don't see him with many top 5's this year. :shakehead:

He'll make the chase......He's safely in right now in 11th because he's within 400 points of the leader....But he's going to have to get him a win or two between now and then to make sure he's in there...he WILL make it though

him and rondeu didnt comunicate at all. with the eury's jr. would tell them what was wrong and they would know what to do.

rondeu just didnt have a knack for a car. he cant be told what is wrong and know how to fix it.

being the greatest jr. fan on earth, i love this move. but they are scrambling bad right now. his car hasnt ran right one time all season. that has to change now.

at 'dega who didnt do s***. and that is his track.

maybe this will help but i think his season may be bust.

blame that damn teresa earnhardt. man, women ruin everything.

Ahhhh i think she just cashes checks. She i cannot believe has nearly the hands on in the DEI group as she'd like to have credit for.

From what I gather, Rondeau is a pretty smart mechanic. But several times this year he has had to tell jr to speak plain english because his accent is so bad when he gets excited it makes it impossible to understand what he's saying. Plus, jr isn't an engineering whiz either, so the terms he uses to describe what the car does aren't being picked up by Rondeau. Pete's a fish out of water at DEI, figuratively and literally speaking a different language than both Waltrip and jr. He'd fit in much better with a driver like Travis Kvapil or Robby Gordon.

Is Rondeau still at DEI or was he released altogether?

Also, Teresa pretty much built DEI, her and that suit (forgot his name) that sr hired. Dale just signed the checks.

Any time Jr. has a bad run it's always the teams fault. How many crew chiefs is he going to go through???

Evidently you don't watch much racing....He has to have good cars to have a good run....If his crew can't adjust the car to drive the way he likes it then who else is there to blame? He can't get out and adjust the car himself

That's not exactally true either. Yes a crew chief needs to be able to adjust a car, but sometimes you have to be able to drive an ill handling car without relying on your crew. Dale is'nt very good at that.

Yeah but the crew is supposed to be able to adjust the car to his liking and how he drives it.....I know Jr. isn't that good at driving an ill handling car but his crew isn't that great at adjusting to his liking either

The conspiracy theory that's out there is that jr is so unhappy at DEI that he's literally trying to get fired so he can drive for RCR in the #3 Bud car.

jr. relied alot on the eurys to fix his car, while he drove it. he does need to learn to diagnose the car better.

about the #3 thing. that is totally a rumor that was created in a board just like this.

man that would be awesome though.

Fans would like it but it would totally destroy any type of chemistry between the 3 RCR teams that ahs developed since sr left. Let's face it, RCR was a multi car team only in numbers when sr was around. Harvick would have to lose his ride, and probably wouldn't move into the 07. Can't really see Jeff Burton sticking around either. ANd we all know Park wasn't happy at DEI after jr came along, and if anybody else but Waltrip drove the 15 there would probably be more friction between the two teams. This wouldn't be something that Childress would make a decision on quickly.

But like I said, only a conspiracy theory.
