Hate touting another SEC teams player but Florida's 2-Way stud Jack Caglianone is putting together a season for the ages. Dude is legit. Flipping through channels between innings and caught him hit an absolute 1st inning tank his 17th of season. just hit another line shot to make him 2-2 on the day. Hitting well over .400 and oh by the way he's pitching a shutout at present as their Sunday starter.

He’s good. No doubt. He also flipped off a player after hitting a home run last weekend, but got zero negative attention for it, which just shows the unfair double standard our players have to contend with due to hurt feelings.

For sure, although I kinda like our guys being a bit of the villain. It means we're good at what we do.

Back to Caglianone, his mechanics , body type, reminds me of Andy Pettite. Has more Velo than Pettite but doesn't have the control yet.

I don’t know, sob looks pretty special.
He would have to keep his current pace and Florida would also have to play 75 games for him to get 49. I just don’t see that happening. 41 is definitely within reach. He is on Lance Berkman’s 41 HR pace for Rice in a 63 game season. Our Vols played 66 total games last season and didn’t even make the CWS. Ole Miss, by comparison, played in 65 total games. So you would have to bank on Florida getting to the SECT Championship and also making the CWS Final. Even then, they will be short of playing 75 games. So he would actually have to pick up his pace a little bit to break the record. I just don’t believe there will be enough games for him to hit enough for the NCAA record.

He did just hit 4 over the weekend at Ole Miss. That’s not going to be the norm though. Didn’t record an hit against Alabama also.
I think part of that was the lack of pitching Ole Miss has this year in conversing with those who follow that program. If he hits those dingers on us and other pitcher heavy teams, then we crown him the American Ohtani
