Can this team look at putting someone, anyone, in at DE in place of Smith? I lost count in the 1st half on the number of times he got beat around his end. The tackle or TE sealed him off and the ball carrier had the whole outside lane to run through. Consistently bad play. Having played DE many decades ago they always taught you to seal the edge and don't get beat outside; turn the play in. Yet Smith does not show he can do that. And he gets zero pressure on the QB on pass attempts. Why is he still playing in there?

Because he's the best they have?

I agree tho, he's got to be the most overrated starter ever.

All Jacques Smith does is look good in a UT uniform. He never makes any plays other than bad ones. I'm not trying to be a critic but we have to have someone better on our roster than him. I'm glad he's from TN and has given his all for UT but his all was way less than what we need.

This player let his team down before their playoff game his senior year with a selfish action and he's never progressed.

the most active and aggressive I have seen him is with his cast on, jersey sleeves rolled up to show his guns, and jumping around trying to get his teammates fired up.
He is not a good football player. Period. Well spoken and in shape young man. Just can't ball and gets shoved around like he is the victim of a bully.

Love the guy for being a Vol and giving his all....but like that old saying, "Looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane". Bodybuilding is his true calling!!

Actually he is 21 and hes given his all for 4 years and its just not good enough, bash on if it makes sense to you.

I said he isn't a good football player and was a well spoken young man. You take it however you want. Maybe if someone told him he wasn't a good player a few years ago he would've had a chance to become one. Too late now.

He's a giant bust. Hope he gets his degree and does something non-football related. No level of football is his calling.
