I was wondering if anyone has any experience with jail breaking an iPhone? The wife wants to jail break one of her iPhones (7s plus). She said there are tons of really cool apps and things you can do with jail breaking. I have read up on it and it seems like it’s not that good of an idea. What do you all think?

I don’t know honestly. I mean it’s an older phone that’s way out of warranty but I read somewhere that jail breaking could ruin the phone.

I doubt it it’ll ruin it. At worst it’ll have to be reset and you might lose what is on it. Like I said I haven’t did a jailbreak in years but every one was kind of specific to the version of iOS you were running.

Without a good reason I don't see any point in doing this. It's not going to magically change your phone into something else or sudden show you revolutionary apps.

Most people jailbreak for a reason. Usually to run pirated software, apps that have pirated streams of TV/movies, and geeks/nerds.

Prob best just to just skip the idea and move on.

There was an app that let you use your device as a hotspot without your carrier knowing. Other than that it was mainly changing carrier and wifi logos and stuff like that. You can get the movie apps without jailbreaking now if you want to take that risk.

There isn’t much of a reason to unless you are wanting to pirate apps. You can customize icons and stuff but honestly the novelty wears off pretty quick. There used to be added features that were nice but Apple has pretty much included them all at this point.

Personally I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are just wanting to tinker.
