Biletnikoff Award

The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season’s outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football’s outstanding receiver, not merely college football’s outstanding wide receiver.
Well done #11!

I don't know if the winner is determined by the fan votes or by a committee, but I can't help but feel like Harrison JR. is going to get it. He is an outstanding receiver, but if statistics are the determining factor, Hyatt wins in a landslide.

I think fans count as a vote

Harrison will win for literally no reason than bias.

To be fair, I think if you had to say who the more “complete” receiver is, I think it’s Harrison. He’s definitely got better pro prospects and I feel like he’s a smoother route runner with great hands. He’ll be a first round pick next year.

That being said, Hyatt has had a better year statistically and in his biggest game, went for 5 TD’s and 206 yards. I want Jalin to win but MHJ has made some downright insane catches this season. I’m just glad we have a WR up for the Biletnikoff considering we were referred to as WRU back in the day.

I don't disagree that Harrison will likely be a better pro prospect, but for right now, more yards, more TDs, against better competition. That's all that should matter here.

Hyatt is a first round pick THIS YEAR.

I hope so. This is a really deep receiver class. McShay had him mocked 2nd round. Someone’s going to fall in love with his speed (Raiders lol). That’d be awesome if he went first round especially because there’s still a lot of room for him to grow as a player.

I still don't feel that Jaylin is a 1st round pick. He's fast, but his lack of size and physicality will keep him from round one. In our loss to UGA... he really struggled with physical DB's and with SC a few times as well.

Media is fawning all over Harrison
In the only competitive game OSU played all year he had 7 grabs for 120yds and a TD, not terrible, but nowhere close to being as impressive as JHs 6 catch, 207 yard, 5 TD day against bama. I don’t know how you look past that…but the clowns that determine who wins will.

How is best college receiver in FBS defined? Number of touchdowns? Number of yards received? Quality of play during games of teams ranked in Top 25? Top 10? Importance of contribution to team success? (Emphasis on college receiver as opposed to some subjective measure as future NFL potential which no one can accurately predict nor should it even remotely be a factor).

Take away the players name and team and judge on statistics. In the event of a tie, look at importance of player to team's winning success and you don't have to go any further that Hooker to Hyatt in a game against the #3 team in the nation.

By any rationale measure, Jalin is the winner. But football awards and team rankings are often way, way too subjective (i.e., political). I could say mostly political but I don't want to be more jaded that I am already.

He had the same amount of yards and catches as Tillman.

6 grabs for 68 yards. That's a 1st down every catch.

People have it in their mind what a WR or any player "should" look like.

Hyatt is plenty ready for the NFL. There hasn't been a WR with his gear when the ball's in the air for years now.

Which makes it even more ridiculous that Milton overthrew him the 2nd time around vs Vandy

It shouldn't' t even be close between these three!! Hyatt should win in a landslide.

Hyatt - 1,267yrd/15 TDs

Hutchinson - 1,171yrd/6 TDs

Harrison Jr - 1,157yrd/12 TDs

Harrison would most likely be the media favorite with all the pub their conference receives and his name recognition. He is very close in stats with Hyatt.

Hyatt is not "a landslide" with those stats.

Fine with Harrison or Hyatt.

Hyatt is the more dangerous WR, but Harrison is a really good all-around WR.
He's a taller version of his dad.
