Russell was quiet and confident in every drill, and everybody else was... well, everybody else was McCown (wobble, wobble), Andrew Walter (knee surgery, off the premises), Josh Booty and Jeff Otis.

Russell almost impaled Jerry Porter with one pass, threw another so hard that it ricocheted 15 yards off rookie Oren O'Neal's hands, and lasered a couple of 20-yard in-route passes to Travis Taylor.

To be honest, since he's our first number 1 overall pick ever, I'm in no rush to mess around and get him hurt soon. We aren't making the playoffs this year, and probably wont next year either. Let the offense get straightened out and allow Walter, Mccown, and any other fodder get flattened until JR is truly ready to take the reigns.

But yeah, its like having the best toy in the neighborhood, you want to play with it right away.

Is Andrew Walter injured? I think I would play him this year or at least for the first couple of games.

He's going to get cut on his knee, but it's not serious. Maybe he can get a speed shot. For chrissakes, that kid makes Drew Bledsoe look like Desmond Howard.

The Raiders need to get him off to a good start, that means having the oline to help him, the Raiders have little or no problems on defense but offense is a horse of a different color. Who are his receivers...poor guy!!!

Of course as a 49er fan with problems of our own, I hope Jamarcus implodes...:eek:lol:

Hi peoples btw...California 49er fan don't ask why I'm here, google brought me here to converse with you all.

Welcome! If you happen to be a Cal Bear fan also, then make your way to the main board and you can also discuss how the Vols are going to kick the Bears' a$$ again this year.

If JR lets one fly downfield do the Raiders have anyone fast enough to do a 70 yard sprint under the ball?

Willie Beamon has more athleticism than Shane Falco ever thought about.

he's going to lose the starting position to a past-his-prime Daunte Culpepper. JR is fat, fairly slow, and is holding out on signing. Following Heath Shuler's shining example of a great college qb thinking he has more to offer the pros than he really does.

Kind of ironic that the Raiders have both Russell and Culpepper now... I'm not quite sure about Culpepper's college career, but Russell's one (or one of them, anyway) knock in college was that he could be turnover prone, much like Culpepper in his NFL career. Very similar in a lot of ways, those too.

Russell has never fumbled like Culpepper does. Ints Russell makes are because he is the most arrogant guy I have seen play the spot since Favre. He see triple coverage and considers it a challenge. Or maybe he is too dumb to know better, I dunno
