Fair but he keeps them at the top of the league every year. Usually it’s Ohio state, Michigan and then Penn state.
Which says waaaay more for that conference being overrated than him being a good coach tho.

His sec comparable would be Ole Miss, south Carolina, Missouri

And he's on the level of those coaches

That would not fly at Bama or Texas or LSU.
Not at all, and that’s what makes it so interesting. Take Mark Stoops at Kentucky—given the school’s basketball focus, there’s usually little pressure or high football expectations. Yet, he’s managed to overperform there. Ironically, though, some Kentucky fans seem frustrated with him. Then, look at James Franklin at Penn State. While Penn State has a storied football history, it’s not as if they were a perennial national powerhouse every year. After the Paterno scandal, they’re fortunate to have landed a coach like Franklin to stabilize and rebuild the program.

That's what makes peen st a joke imo
Mediocrity is good enough

What a joke
Yup! I agree. But if he keeps making millions per year then I guess he’s winning while the program is not lol

I will say when he was at Vandy he was 2-1 against our Vols. So glad to see him go. Much of that had to do with our stupid coaching at the time.

Which is weird bc he’s a good coach but can’t get over the hump in the big 18 or 10 whatever it’s called now.

Penn State doesn't recruit the athletes Ohio State recruits. He isn't getting it done on the recruiting trail IMO. Penn State always looks slow like the other Blob10 teams when they play Michigan (under Harbaugh) or Ohio State.

Michigan and Ohio State recruit nationally which gives them an advantage over the Iowa, Penn State, Minnesota, Wisconsins of the world.

In big boy football you simply cannot have an opponent roll up on your schedule year in and year out you cannot beat. Frankl8n cannot get over the hump against his better opponents. I suspect he’s getting close to end of his stint at PSU. The end is nigh when you fire your OC for one final season ahead.
