NEW YORK (AP) -- The maker of classic American liquors such as Jim Beam and Maker's Mark has agreed to be purchased by a Japanese company in a $13.62 billion deal that would create the third largest global premium spirits business.

Shares of Beam Inc. rose 24 percent on Monday after it said that it agreed to be acquired by Suntory Holdings Ltd., a Japanese beverage company. The combined company would have annual sales of more than $4.3 billion.

What's new. The country the world owns while getting rich while the citizens get poor.

What's that last part mean?

Basically we have outsourced ourself to more poverty & a high rate of unemployment. The government tries to rape the rest to take care of those while dragging them down too.

Now days Japan isn't your fathers Industrial Complex.....in other words the worlds a lot smaller than 40 years ago when they first began to make inroads to our manufacturing base...

Er, Mountain Dew Cheetos Hit Shelves in Japan | Foodbeast

Mountain Dew Cheetos have arrived and nothing will ever be the same again. The latest limited-edition snack come from Frito Lay Japan, the same people who brought us Pepsi-Flavored Cheetos coated in a sweet cola flavor. According to BrandEating, this isn't the first time a Mountain Dew-flavored item has found its way onto shelves -- back in 2008, they released a mystery Doritos flavor known as "Quest" that appeared here in the US.

The new Mountain Dew Cheetos are dusted with the soda's signature sweet, fizzy taste that bears a similarity to lemon lime chips. Unfortunately, like all breathtaking and beautiful eats, Mountain Dew Cheetos are only available in Japan. However, if you're really aching to get your hands on some, you can order them online for about $3.50 a pack.

Oh, hello 2014.

Japanese quality control is second-to-none. Lovers of Jim Beam and Maker's Mark should be ecstatic... unless you're one of those 'Murica types.

Oh okay I can agree with that. Now it's the south's good ole liquor that was just sold to the highest bidder, instead of someone's job to the lowest bidder. Anyone have some beam stock?

Just a formality. Nothing will change when it comes to Jim Beam or Makers Mark.

If you guys remember Beam just recently tried to change the alcohol content in Makers Mark and water it down. The backlash from the consumers was so negative they had to cancel the plan. In the long run this might be a good thing for both brands.

The ones that drive a Ford or Chevy that has parts made in Mexico and then assembled here in "Murica.
