against a team with two beasts down low defensively.

What a gutsy performance

Guys we have us something very special here in Stokes!! He has that "it" factor about him.

Nice thing is that he's not "dominant" yet. He will continue to get better & better & better to the point that he is something I think other teams will have to spend a significant amt of time game planning for.

Hope this kid hangs around awhile! Fun to watch and when his body catches up to that frame look out!

The scary thing about Stokes is he is just a baby, but he is already a beast!!!!! He is 6'8 & 270 & has size 20 feet & just turned 18. He could hit a growth spurt & be 2 inches taller this time next year!!!! Oh, & he has not even hit the weight room yet, Ouch!!!!!

I'll be 50 in feb and I almost threw my shoulders out and gased out jumping screaming and pumping fists for this kid.
Absolute all american potential. Blows me away.

According to Jarnell himself, he is a legit 6'-9" now.
At 6'-11 he would have long-term NBA potential. The touch he displays for a man that size is pretty rare. Also, Conzo will have him shooting 70% from the line next season. Plus he seems a lot less foul-prone than Kenny Hall.:dance2:

Just like I posted the other night after the GA game that Stokes needed to play 30 minutes. Several posters stated "stokes wasn't ready for that much PT because he isn't in shape yet and doesn't play good defense... etc..."

Ready to change your minds yet? I think he's ready to play 30 minutes.

UTFANFORLIFE, are you out there? Here was your response to my suggestion that Stokes should play more minutes.

"Well, considering he is not yet in game shape, he would need a breather quite often. He is not ready for 25-30 minutes a game. Believe it or not, Martin knows more than you do.":salute:

I keep thinking the same thing. If he comes back next season at 6'11", his ceiling may be higher than any college player in the country.

I seen to remember after uga i stated I expected him to start vs Uconn and okay about 30 minutes. Quite the psychic I might say.

He is ready for 30+ minutes.Wait until he gets a better feel for the game... Look out

Let's not go overboard. He was visibly tired early to mid-way through the 2nd half. He'll play as much as possible though because Counzo wants to get in the tourney. IMO, if we can sneak in I think we could potentially be a sweet 16 sleeper based on our defensive prowess.

Looks like stokes just gets better each game and when you think about it we may raise some eyebrows before this year is over. Feels good to pull out a close one. GBO

I would love nothing more than to hand cal his first loss at rupp! Now that'd get some attention.
