Jasmine Pace missing in Tennessee amid phone and social media puzzles

Anyone else following this story? Im surprised it's not national news yet, very Gabby Petito'ish case. The jist:

-Girl (Jasmine) went to her boyfriend's apt in Chatt on 11/22, hasn't been seen since

-Neighbors heard a girl scream and a loud thud one night. Didn't call the police (for whatever reason)

-Jasmine then shared her location with her mom at 2:30 AM, seems to have been a cry for help. Mom was asleep and never saw it.

-The next day the Jasmine texted her family saying she was going to stay with her friend in South Carolina for a while, the family found this very suspicious.

-Jasmine then posted on social media a bunch of pics making it look like she was with her friend, but they were immediately pointed out as being old pics. The family contacted the friend, who told them she doesn't live in SC anymore, and hasn't heard from Jasmine in years.

-Jasmine's car was found at nearby apartments, the seat scooted back like a male was driving it.

-The boyfriend has now been taken into custody and charged with homicide.

They are plenty more weird details than that, but this story is nuts. Sounds like he was using her phone and her Facebook to impersonate her after she went missing. Hard not to think the worst in this case.

So the bf has been charged with homicide but no body?

The clue about her telling her parents she was staying in SC with a friend sounds like a on purpose red flag she might have told to get everyone's attention she was in danger.

Hadn't heard of this story before this but keep us posted please!

Yep, CPD said they found enough evidence to charge him with homicide, but no body found yet. That must have been some serious evidence.

I hate to say it, but that's not really newsworthy. Mostly just an ordinary murder. I think you should be able to get updates easily in this day and age, but I wouldn't expect any national fascination.

I think it's just the twists and turns to the story that made me think it would hit national news. It was all very up in the air until yesterday and it seemed like all of Chattanooga was wrapped up in the story.

At this point you're right though, I think it's just a hunt for the body now.

Probably 45% or of homicides have a "twisting story" behind them, it honestly does happen more than you think.....Hopefully there is good police work and this case gets solved correctly.

Or it was the killer trying to throw people off his trail

Unfortunately, things around Chattanooga don’t really make the national news. If they do, it’s brief. For example, when that terrorist went through and killed those servicemen. Seems like stories like this would have been talked about for a long time. But this one was kinda brushed off. As a local to Chattanooga/Cleveland, it felt like it at least.

Hearing about the girl is so terrible. Prayers are with her family.

The media under the Obama administration wasn't going to let the military shootings be a huge story. Same thing happened with Fort Hood....

Signal Mountain murders made national news. At least for awhile.i lived right down the road and had been on the property, although before the killer owned it.what was that. 1988?

Edit for fat fingers(again)

Wasn't that on an episode of Unsolved Mysteries?

I agree, mostly because as much as I hate to say it, this case sounds like what's now a typical true crime podcast episode/series.
