Latest article on Ms White contains this interesting tidbit;

The lefty has taken unofficial visits to South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Clemson, Florida, Miami and Florida State. She hopes to narrow her search this summer.

"I don't want to go too far away from home," White said. "Also I'm looking for a coaching staff that I get along with but [who] will make me better. And I don't want to be a
, so if they have me as a 5 I probably won't go there."

That makes two highly rated recruits from the Carolinas with the height to be an effective center who have stated that they won't go to a school that wants to use them in that capacity. (A'ja Wilson being the other one.)

Personally, when my high school coach came to me and said he wanted me to play a different position, I said OK coach. I was just thrilled that he wanted to put me on the field! I guess things have changed in the past couple of decades.

On the other hand, this makes any issue of White being hesitant to consider Tennessee because of Russell moot.

Yep, attitude problem. You play where you need to play to win. It doesn't matter if it is where you want to be or even if it is not your best position.

The girls are becoming as bad as the guys.

I don't see why it has to turn into the question of whether or not she has a bad attitude or a character flaw. God forbid a talented athlete pursues a different position than projected and make a college decision based on that goal.

I dont know what she expect but if she's TALL... she needs to rebound and block a few shots, center-type duties.

If she can knock down a 15ft jumper thats great, also if she can play the top of the press and is able to get back to guard the other team's "taller" players that would be awsome.

the things that come out of some of these kids mouths

sometimes you have to do whats best for the team! if she wants to do whats best for her she should play golf or a sport that isnt a TEAM sport!!!!

Her position will depend on 1) her size and 2) her skill set. Maybe she is a better 4 than a 5; maybe her natural game is 10-15 feet from the basket and not 5 feet. If so, I understand her wishes. With Russell already slotted in at center, she probably has a chance to play the 4 at UT, and maybe some 5 when Russell is not playing. Or maybe Harrison would play the 5, but Harrison has some 4 skills herself, for sure. Getting White and having her with Russell and Harrison would give the Vols a /very strong/ front court. That's the message I'd think the UT coaches would want to convey to her.
