This is a little premature. Gotta love it though.
ESPN - Cutler needs to be careful when it counts - AFC West
Jay Cutler has been fabulous the first two weeks.
He has to be considered an early candidate for the MVP award. Cutler, in his second full season as a starter, has thrown for 650 yards. He has a great command of the offense and he throws one of the hardest, tightest passes in the NFL.
He is clearly well on his way to being a star. Still, Sunday, Cutler showed he needs to work on one, major problem: He has to stop making mistakes in crucial times.
His only two mistakes of the young season came deep in San Diego territory on Denver's final two drives of the game. He threw an interception at the goal line with less than five minutes to go with Denver winning, 31-30. Then, he had the infamous fumble on the controversial call in the final minute.
The mistakes ended up not hurting Denver as Cutler made two great plays on Denver's final two plays of the game. Cutler is on to great things, but he has to show he can keep his composure when it counts the most.
Meanwhile, Denver receiver Brandon Marshall has 55 catches in his past five games. No one in the history of the NFL has caught that many passes in any five-game stretch.
