i'm more and more impressed with this team.

they have a bonafied threat at WR...that Henry kid looks like Paxico Burress out there, the qb just makes plays and the running game is efficient.

the defense is statistically great.......though they did give up some points Sat. night.

if they can beat Mizzou, which will be a tall order in and of itself, i think OU/KU could be a very entertaining game.

the fighting Manginos are getting it done......and i say good for them.:good!:

Concur.

The funny thing is that I work with a KU grad and he was genuinely shocked when another football fan and I were talking about this earlier. What a geek...

Every other pretender bubbles have burst, i.e. USF, Gamecocks, KY, BC, and Connecticut which in the top ten or close to it. Kansas is hanging in there. Quite honestly don't know enough about these guys to call them pretenders or not. So far, not.

their schedule hasn't been all that tough, granted, but i said in one of my "weekend in review" threads a few weeks ago that we'd find out a lot about KU in the coming weeks...and that was the beginning of the stretch that included A&M, Neb, Ok. St and Mizzou.

well, and that was beore the debacle at Neb, and we saw how that turned out....but they beat A&M, beat Ok . St. and all they have left is ISU before the date with Mizzou.

so, you should have an 11-0 KU and a 10-1 Mizzou team facing off on the last game of the year, on a neutral field to determine who plays OU in the title game.

great stuff.......who needs Mich/OSU when you have KU and Mizzou?:)

I think Kansas is the most overrated team in CFB. Good? Yes. But their schedule is the worst of any BCS conference team. I plan on dropping at least 5 units on Missouri in 2 weeks.

And of those 3, how many has Kansas played?

Right, none. Missouri will trounce them.

Easy there killer. "Trounce", that is bold. There will be no "trouncing" from either team when those two lock up.

That's ridiculous to say. Sometimes Oklahoma blows out Texas. Sometimes Florida blows out Tennessee. Sometimes Ohio State blows out Michigan.

Kansas is a paper tiger. Decent team, awful schedule. Missouri, even though they might be underdogs in Vegas, IMO, will win by 2 TDs or more.

maybe. i agree about the schedule. no OK or TX in the reg season, and Neb is awful. Mizzou is THE GAME on their schedule with OK St and A&M being the only other two that might have presented a challenge.

but i'll give them this much, they have beat down just about everyone on their schedule, so, when you look at it, they've treated their schedule like good teams are supposed to.

i too think Mizzou will win, the jayhawk defense hasn't seen anything like Chase Daniel and co., but i don't know that it will be a blow out.

and at the end of the day, in the context that it is Jayhawk football we're talking about, they deserve some love......it's been a great year by any means.

and here's the kicker...they may have more to gain by losing to Mizzou and bypassing the title game...if they don't fall too far in the polls, they, at 11-1, may get an at large bid for the BCS...........esp if OK wins it and possibly goes to the title game........

Missouri has beaten all common opponents worse than Kansas, except for Nebraska, which Missouri only gave up 6 points.

i heard on the radio today that the student body is wearing T-shirts that say:
"Our coach ate your coach"

and i'm assuming most of you saw the sign that one of the Jayhawk fans had at the game last week that said:
"missing a player? Our coach ATE him!!"

i guess there's something to be said about being able to poke fun at yourself........:eek:lol:
