He is one of Bruce Pearl's top targets for 2010. I have seen him play here in the City, and he hs a good game. Really tough, and really strong. Used to be a poor mans DeJuan Blair, but has lost some weight and is now more versatile. There is not much on him, but here is a little bit. Had a good year this year against good competition...

he's strong..
but he looks way undersized as a forward.. if he looks short for high school, he's gonna look like a midget at the college level..

Scout.com: Jayvaughn Pinkston Profile

His Scout profile lists him at 6'6". That definitely seems undersized to play the four. His height would work for a three, but if his profile is correct, his weaknesses are ballhandling and perimeter shooting.
He is not a 3, he would be a 4 at Tennessee. He is not that big, but i think Pearl has been at his best when he has had guys like pinkston at the 4. He is a great rebounder, so his height is not that big of a deal. Think of a 1' smaller Dejuan Blair with less power and more skill.

Well, he would be taller than Bradshaw at 4.

If this kid is really good, I hope we get him, If he's not that good, then I hope we don't.......simple as that.

Per Rivals...

Pinkston’s situation is a little harder to get a read on, but more and more we’re hearing things that make us think Tennessee has put itself in very good position. As we’ve said before, it’s hard not to read quite a bit of significance into the timing of the recent unofficial visit Pinkston made to Knoxville.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that he didn’t show up at Villanova for a visit last weekend like some had thought.

Finally, we’re getting more than a few signals that Pinkston is leaning hard towards signing in the early period, something his AAU Coach/spokesperson Kimani Young has been noncommittal on.

If he does indeed sign in November, the feeling here is that it will be good news for Tennessee.

The basketball recruiting threads tend to get lost in this forum because of all of the football recruiting threads.

Poster on TOS is reporting Jayvauhn's Facebook status is now ""I THINK I FOUND MY NEW HOME 4 NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!"... and the status goes on to say that the papers haven't come in yet so he can't say which school it is.
