usc's ''gruden''. Just wait till a ''he owns property here'' rumor pops up.

I guess it does seem crazy on the outside looking in. Why the hell would Fisher leave what he has for that!

Sucks how everything constantly gets merged or deleted on this board. This thread means nothing to anyone other than ut football fans

How is this not related to ut football? Gruden was connected to ut and ut's last coach is usc's coach. It belongs in the football forum

1. Jeff Fisher has nothing to do the University of Tennessee who, by the way, is the title of your thread

2. USC has nothing to do with UT football.

3. UT's last coach is a suckubus who currently coaches WR's in Dallas, not USC's current HC

4. Jeff Fisher makes like 8 million dollars a year and has coached in the NFL for over 2 decades and is still a very highly regarded NFL HC...still, nothing to do with UT football.

5. Neither Fisher, Gruden, nor USC have anything to do with UT and Kiffin is so far removed from UT now that he has only a handful of players still on the team.

As much as the rumors were flying and people were drinking the grudenade in our own fan base we aren't in a place to make jokes about it.

To be fair though, Gruden wasn't employed as a coach and I seriously doubt the Rams would fire Jeff Fisher after two seasons. Knowing that, it seems way more far fetched that Fisher would take a college gig than Gruden. Why leave a good thing in the NFL for a college gig?

Fisher is in his 2nd season of a 5 year contract and only Bill Belichick/Andy Reid make more than Fisher. They're making 7.5 mil a season to Fisher's 7. It should also be noted that Jeff Fisher has never once coached in college in any capacity. He went straight from being an NFL player to standing on NFL sidelines.

Maybe it's just me but I think it's far more laughable that Jeff Fisher would leave his current NFL gig than Jon Gruden leaving the booth.

As soon as he gets his bike fixed and repainted, the new coach is on his way.....

The question is... will he jet on the Toppers in the middle of the season leaving only identical statements in their lockers?

Probably.

What I find interesting is that Finebaum also mention Bobby Patrino as a possible replacement...

Link for reference

won't happen. USC would have to pay kiffin's buyout plus the $1.2 million that Petrino would owe if he leaves WKU after year 1. he's not worth that much money considering all of the baggage he brings.

And who do you think mostly reads the NCAA forum on VolNation.com, Alabama fans? I know everyone thinks their thread belongs in the football forum, but come on, Jeff Fisher and the USC job isn't Vols' football related, no matter how you try to sell it.

Just saying. :hi:
