With Tom O'Brien's firing today, I began to wonder whatever happened to Jeff Jagodzinski. Coach "Jags" was O'Brien's replacement at Boston College. If anyone remembers, he had two good seasons at BC, but was fired when he started talking to the New York Jets.

Boston College has never been willing to pay coaches much, which is why O'Brien bolted, and Jags was looking around for the same reason. Coach Jags was an OC for Tampa Bay one year, and then went to coach in the UFL for a season.

So far as I know, he's not doing anything now. Not saying he should be one of UT's first targets (too unproven), but someone ought to give him a shot. He did a good job at Boston College, even if he was only there for two years.

I'm curious as to why his name never comes up. If I were the AD at some mid-tier school, I'd probably take a chance on him. Or maybe Auburn --- after all, Auburn can pay, but the job won't appeal to many coaches due to the problems left there.

I don't think his name ever comes up in Tennessee because none of us know how to pronounce his name

I thought this thread was about that kicker, Janakowski. Had to do the ole double-take.

He'd be able to recruit the fertile field of Polish-Americans located in Tennessee.

In seriousness, he'd be a good hire for a MAC, WAC, C-USA program, which would allow him the opportunity to reestablish his once hot name, but he's not our guy.

McMarthy thought highly of him. Guess when he went off to TB calling plays longer than grand central station they had a problem.

Coach Jags got lucky in BC. Pushed his luck w/ the Jets & lost. Hired by a rookie GM & HC in Tampa and fired before the season started. Seems his play book was about as thick as a comic.
Pretty sure he had a good staff in Boston and blew it.

I described what a show "caluse" entailed. My bad bro. I actually gave factual info. I'm confused. These mods are sensitive. I love the mods though (was probably freak that deleted it). This is freaks hour. :)

No prob...I laughed about it...maybe had something to do with the link...its cool...now VolinthePlains or whatever his name is can go and grade some more posts :)
