I'm not arguing that Bru is not a great player or anything like that.

Actually, I think Bru is far more skilled and refined as a player than JJ could ever even dream of being.

JJ was and is pure heart though and you can never discount that. Dude threw a very bad UT team with no QB play to speak of on his back in 2019. If we had not blown it vs GaSt and BYU for all the Pruitt jokes and what happened after-that team would-and should- have won 10 games.

Sure it was fools gold, but you remove the start of the season and we would have been having a high old time in 2019.

I have been watching football (UT and otherwise) for over 35 years. I have never seen anything like it-how much JJ was the very soul and heartbeat of that team.

I could be wrong but I think this is his last year at the rookie level contract…if so, and if he stays healthy and has another similar year, he’s gonna get paid next year…I’m thinking multiple years at multiple millions a year

Yes, he will be a restricted FA after this season. SF gets the opportunity to match, but assuming he has another solid year, he will get a nice raise.

Another cool thing is that this will be his third year of NFL service. He will be vested after this year. He is also earning the highest annual salary of his career, $940k. Things are looking good for him.

Yes, he will be a restricted FA after this season. SF gets the opportunity to match, but assuming he has another solid year, he will get a nice raise.
