ESPN INSIDER:
Maybe now we know why former Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli hasn't yet applied for the NFL's supplemental draft, a move that he reportedly is expected to make, according to ESPN's Len Pasquarelli. Aaron Dietrich of KNOE-TV 8 in Monroe, La., reports that sources say that Masoli was in Ruston recently visiting Louisiana Tech, and that he is also looking at Mississippi State. Why Masoli would want to spend another two years in college, one as a redshirt, is beyond us, but this TV report certainly suggests that is the case.
As ESPN.com's Ted Miller points out, new Ragin' Cajuns coach Sonny Dykes, a former offensive coordinator at Arizona, certainly is familiar with Masoli. Moreover, Masoli probably would be the perfect QB for Dykes' spread system. But why would Dykes want a guy who has only one year of eligibility remaining -- in 2011? Wouldn't he rather have a guy who can grow with his program?
We're not sure if this has legs, but it defies all logic (which is something frequently said about the NCAA, of course). If Pasquerelli's report is true and several NFL teams have interest in Masoli, even as a free agent, how could he put off his pro career for another two seasons?
We're reserving judgment until the deadline has passed to enter the supplemental draft.

Maybeeeeee coach DD can get ahold of Masoli... I would sure rather have him than Brissett, Worley, or any QB in the 11' class hah
