Little early, though, for them to already have selected someone. The SEC just formed the committee in charge of the national search like yesterday.

(edit: actually, the AP broke the committee announcement today. The members are:

Nicholas S. Zeppos, Chancellor of Vanderbilt University and current chair of the SEC’s Presidents and Chancellors, has appointed a committee to search for the eighth commissioner in the history of the league. Dr. David Gearhart, Chancellor of the University of Arkansas, will serve as chairman of the committee that will also include Dr. Judith Bonner, President of the University of Alabama; Dr. Eli Capilouto, President of the University of Kentucky; Dr. Mark Keenum, President of Mississippi State University; and Dr. R. I'm not sure that's, like, he will be the next one/"it's decided/announcement coming" kind of buzz.

This looks more like...who's being guessed as possible candidates, before this all starts.


Sankey's the favorite according to some.
Followed by Womack.

If they choose to go outside the SEC offices, Foley or Long could come up if they choose to look at ADs, or possibly another conference's commissioner.


...but this is all more of speculation being reported at this point.
