One of UTs great linebackers put on injured reserves. Get well soon Mayo.

Maybe this means he could make it to the game this weekend.

yea, tough break for him - ESPN did a full segment on sportscenter about his importance to the Patriots D - Leads in tackles, never takes a play off, and is the leader in the huddle

Without a doubt, Mayo is the heart and soul of that defense. Wilfork was a big loss, but Mayo was even bigger of a loss.

As a pats vols fans - cover your eyes but.. Donte Hightower is the truth. Missing mayo will hurt but to be honest - this could work out better for NE in the long run. Mayo comes back as Weakside Middle Hightower will stay strong side.

However - for the first few weeks while the young linebackers (hightower, spikes, collins, fletcher, beauhenaries) learn to live without their signal caller it could be rough stopping the run.

God Speed Jerry!

Mods move if nessecary but I didn't see it on here anywhere. Many of you all knew of his shoulder injury on Sunday against the Saints, but he is reportedly out for the season. A good quote from Mankins: ""That's always disappointing," said guard Logan Mankins, also a captain. "Jerod, he's a good guy, a good teammate, good player, so we're disappointed to lose him.""
