I don't know if this has already been brought up or not, sorry if it already has, but I just saw a headline saying that Jerod Mayo will start vs. Florida. I heard that Jason Mitchell hurt his ankle vs. UAB. So is Mayo starting in Jason's spot? You think that will hurt us or help us?
Also, is there any word yet on whether or not Demetrice Morley will start or not?

Go Vols!

Mayo will be just fine. However, given the multiple sets Florida runs, I would be surprised if we don't see a lot of 5 DB sets.

mayo is a hoss, and morley will probably not start, on vol calls , CPF said he liked his play in the UAB game, even though he sprained his ankle, but he WILL get playing time, maybe a lot of it, in the florida game :victory:

Losing Jason Mitchell for the UF game worries me more than anything. I think he might be one of our most underrated LB's in a while.

Considering that UM likes to pick on LB's, I worry about Mayo getting the start. I hope he is able to step on the field and start making big plays like Gaither did last year.

Same here. I dont worry so much about his ability as i do being caught in the wrong scheme or protection. His inexperience could have him over playing the ball.

But im wishing the very best! :aggressive:

Mayo is good, I'm not worried about him. We will probably be in Nickel half the time anyway. Jonathan Wade, D. Morley, and R. Fellows need to play well.

We need to stop the run early! If we do, Leak is going to take a beating and Mayo can just help bring the pain!!

Heck yeah it worries me. Replacing a seasoned veteran with a relative newbie is scary, particularly when they are facing a complex scheme like we will this weekend. You can bet Meyer will be forcing him to make decisions, a key facet of his offense is attacking the perceived weaker link. This is a great opportunity for Mayo, lets hope he's up to the challenge.

Mayo looked like a stud.

The guy I expected to be the 4th LB is Daniel Brooks though.

Is he still suspended?

I think that he is for 3 games right?

Do we get anyone back for UF other than Gandy from the knee?

I thought that we get McDaniel back....is that right?
