Well, JJ is at it again. This time challenging the blackness of Congressman Artur Davis.

At a CBC Foundation reception on Wednesday night, Jackson denounced Davis’s vote, saying, “We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill from Alabama. You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

Rev. Jesse Jackson injects race into healthcare debate with Davis comments - TheHill.com

Artur Davis is likely to be the next governor of Alabama. While I don't agree with him on many issues, I do respect his penchant for going against various establishments to do what he thinks is right. He's still a politician and his vote against HC may have simply been aimed at winning the gov. race but I think he's the front runner anyway.

A while back, he publicly apologized for voting against more oversight of Fannie/Freddie admitting that the committee (Frank's) missed the boat on that. AFAIK, he's the only D to admit that.

Having JJ insult him makes him more likable in my book!

Isn't Jesse's statement implying that black people have no capacity for providing for their own healthcare and require that the government provide it? And wouldn't that be, in and of itself, a baseless racist statement?

Sometimes this stuff just gets unbelievable...

Speaking as someone who is in favour of healthcare reform, this is one of the most stupid comments I have ever seen. What a complete moron.

I saw Sharpton outside my office a few months back, the man just oozes unpleasantness. A really nasty character.

they are both idiots, no matter what side of the healthcare issue you are on, we can agree that JJ, and AS need the crap kicked out of them

That is 100% correct.

Thats why many hard working, self-sustaining black men, and women can't stand him.

Dumbest thing I've ever heard. Bush never said anything close to being this stupid. What a freaking idiot. I had no idea that years ago when it was first mentioned that America needed to reform health care that we were doing it as a favor to the black people in this country. Are white people, brown people, and yellow people not allowed to use the reformed health-care? Is it just for black people? Jackson is retarded. If you disagree with healthcare reform thats your opinion, not everybody is for it. Jackson is the most racist man in America, hell david duke aint as bad as he is, as jackson wants to tell other black people that their not black enough and then tell black people that white people hate them. IDIOT

All JJ and AS have to say is, this or that person is racist and blam he's on the news. Their tongues are powerful swords and, unfortunately, a lot of AA's still hang on their every mind numbing, poisonous words.

I honestly believe a majority of the civilized world does not need JJ or AS showing up when someone has been wronged to know that they have been wronged. The Duke scandal was a big pie in the face that wasn't.

They are two of the most obvious self promoters out there. What do they do for a living? How do they get paid? Do they still have churches that they pastor in?

I simply don't understand how this racist still is not only not held accountable for his racisim and race pimping, but how he's even relevent.

Jesse is absolute proof that this is either an incremental step to free guv'ment cheese or going all the way.

If Jesse Jackson didn't keep something going and create controversy along race lines, he wouldn't have a job.

Jackson is an idiot, these statements are further proof. There was a time when men like him were needed for the black community. That time has long since passed, what the black community needs now more than ever are people advocating for personal responsibility in their communities, welfare has been a plague on the black community (as well as others) for some time.

I think what this points to in a real sense is that Jackson and his mentality have become a part of the problem, I think he had good intentions at one time, much like government, but those intentions have long since devolved into power plays, much like the current health care bill. It isn't so much about keeping costs down as it is about garnering public support, votes, money and the political power that comes with it.

Even worse, his statement implies that all black people must believe exactly the same things.

Not quite. He's saying you don't qualify to be black without believing in guv'ment cheese. Dispicable.

Regardless of what he is trying to say, the only thing people hear when he does talk is 'I'm a racist idiot that still believes people actually give a crap about what I think'.
