Please tell me his comment regarding the iPad costing America thousands of jobs was taken out of context.

Same thing could be said about the 8-track, cassette and CD. It's the advancement of technology. But If you apply the same logic across the board. Creating a society without making anything would lead to an economic collapse....oh, wait, what?

I think he was trying to get out that the ipad should be made in America, he failed on that.

Yeah, great idea JJII. Let's make the iPad in America instead of China, then see how many they sell at $1500 a pop instead of $500.

Or that we're losing jobs everyday to technology and other things and not making enough gains in the jobs being created. So, even though new jobs are created there may still exist a net job loss.

It's pretty much what happened in India. Ghandi and other leaders pushed for the ban on textile technology that would potentially eliminate jobs and this policy put their economy in a stagnant state for a very long time.
