Jim Harbaugh, Michigan Wolverines coach, discusses recruiting philosophy as 'meritocracy'
Just saw this on ESPN and wasn't really surprised on the pulling of scholarships knowing that everyone does it now. But for those of you that don't like that philosophy, all the good coaches do it because it gives them the option of still having the commitment just in case they miss out on who they really want. In my opinion, I don't see anything wrong with it because if I were the athlete, I wouldn't believe anything I was told until I signed that NLI. Parents and kids have to be smart enough to realize that's how everyone operates and nobody should be offended when they are told to look elsewhere because they should have a backup plan themselves.
