Jimbo Fisher

Either there is a lot of money involved or Fisher and Miles don't get along.

Florida State coach Bobby Bowden was competing with new Alabama coach Nick Saban for Fisher. A university source in Tallahassee told ESPN.com's Ivan Maisel on Wednesday that both Bowden and Saban had offered their offensive coordinator jobs to Fisher, who has held that position at LSU since Saban hired him in 2000. Florida State also recently named Rick Trickett -- with whom Fisher worked at LSU and at Auburn in the 1990s under Bowden's son, Terry -- its new offensive line coach.

So Bobby just hands the offense over to Jimbo completely? Would Fisher go if that weren't the case?

Maybe he is taking this job with the hopes that Papa Bowden is a couple of years away from retirement and he would be next in line. I think at this time, that is a lateral move at best.

plus the board of trustees wouldn't give jimbo the job at UAB, because they wanted to get him as offensive coordinator at Bama when they got Saban, i'm sure he got ticked bout it and didn't show up

that's exactly what i thought...no other reason not to go with saban if you just want to be a coordinator???

Why stay in Saban's shadow? If he went to Alabama and succeeded, people would credit Saban. If he fixes a broken FSU offense, he's the hero.

a la David Cutcliffe?:p

and i believe if that is the case, he's the heir apparent for the FSU job...which isn't the case had he gone with Saban. he'd just be another coordinator on a list of cooridnators that could be HC's somewhere. so i agree.
