Jimbo Fisher

This post is why overtime stats should not count.

They most certainly did not hang 70 on LSU.

He's overrated, but not by much. And he's got the toughest schedule in the country this year. Clemson, Auburn, Alabama, LSU and Georgia
Watch yourself brother you’re bout to get bombarded with nonsense while BOT plays both sides of an argument..

Jimbo is certainly overpaid but you have to give Texas A&M props for going after a proven HC.

A&M ponying up for Jimbo’s buyout and for the massive contract was just one of so many frustrating things about our last coaching search. Sure, Jimbo probably isn’t in the Saban, Dabo, and Meyer tier but he is one of only (I believe) five active coaches with a national title. While people have a legit criticism that FSU is in shambles now, he did bring FSU back (and, yes, FSU’s natural recruiting footprint may be the best in college football) and won a title (and, yes, he did with some shady Jameis finagling). But, there’s no question he is a top ten or so coach and UT had a head start on A&M and we wasted that head start by going cheap and focusing on Schiano when everyone knew Jimbo was looking for an out from Tallahassee. UT should’ve grabbed him (if he would’ve come here) and done what A&M did to make it happen. Sure, who knows if Jimbo will win another title there (or if he would have here) but I’m willing to bet he’ll have better teams than Sumlin did and A&M might have a couple national title caliber teams during his tenure but who knows if they’ll win it all. I bet he would’ve had a similar track here.

Nope. Came pretty quickly after seeing a post criticizing a coach who actually wins championships as a head coach..

So you can't defend him without criticizing Tennessee? Makes sense, well you are consistent.

Jimbo with a 75 million dollar contract. It's just freaking nuts.
A & M is little brother in the state and traditionally a 8/9/10 win program. They seem to always be on the edge but can never get past the big games. Only winning 11 games twice in the modern era

They're willing to pay 75 million dollars for a National Championship. Can Jimbo get it done at a second school?

Hate to be that guy but UT is improving in areas too. It's just we are really bad in 2 major areas this year. QB and Dline. Hard to cover up for.

We're really bad in the only area that matters- the scoreboard

Tennessee fans might say they want Fisher, but as much as we complain about buyouts we would be b***ing when we see what it would have taken to sign him...

If Fisher is fired without cause, A&M would owe Fisher the entirety of his remaining contract and must pay 25 percent of it within 60 days. He would also keep the full buyout if he takes a new job afterwards.

On the contrary, if Fisher were to resign from A&M before his contract expires, Fisher "will have no financial obligation to University arising from such termination, and University will have no financial obligation to Coach." This means Fisher would owe A&M nothing for leaving on his own will and vice versa.
Report: Jimbo Fisher finally signs his Texas A&M contract

I'm wondering if that second part means he can change jobs and not owe A&M anything also. All it says is "resign". Doesn't mention if it's related to taking a different HC job elsewhere.

What? OP posts sh!t about a actual good coach on a Tennessee board...that's ballsy..

Not sure what it matters where he posted it, he was talking about Fisher. But I know you have your agenda, and you are not going to miss a chance at taking a shot Pruitt. Definitely your right to say whatever you want to.

This is beyond stupid. This is his 10th season as a head coach. In that time he has done the following:

1 N.C.
3 ACC championships
4 top ten end of year rankings
Finished ranked in the top 25 in all but one season

Think the fresh start and change in scenery will eventually do Jimbo some good given his off field issues.

Has the pedigree to turn them into a power in the West with that recruiting base.
