Also, during the meeting itself, Spurrier commented on a "hotshot QB from California" whose father told him recently that if his son were to commit to someone today, it would be USC. Spurrier did NOT mention any names, as that would be illegal, but one would think he's referring to Jimmy Clausen.

I doubt that very seriously. Especially since Clausen was at Neyland Stadium on Saturday and not the Henhouse with all the egg-layers.

If Spurrier were making such a comment, he's either drunk or lying or both. Maybe he's been into some wildwood weed with his players. I'll give you 100:1 that if JC comes to the SEC, it will be as a Vol. Blood goes a lot deeper than an old washed out ballcoach.

To think that Jimmy would really go to USC is Crazy. He has to be talking about another qb.

It's been reported that Spurrier has already offered him a scolly. Not surprising in that he knows UT will be the team to beat.

I will bet you that the statement you just made is totally false. I will have to see it to belive it.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier doesn't need to see a quarterback in a game to know if he can play the position. He only had to look at him on tape and throw

Spurrier told Clausen that he's as good as any quarterback he has seen on tape. He's way ahead of the curve with his quarterback techniques.

Clausen definitely has the goods but working with quarterback guru Steve Clarkson of Air 7 has really helped him technically.

Spurrier was so impressed with Clausen that he offered him while he was on campus.

Spurrier spent the whole day with Clausen and there was a definite chemistry between the two. They talked about football philosophy and were in tune with each other.

Needless to say the Gamecocks will also be out at Oaks Christian in May.

The meeting went very at South Carolina and the Clausen's have the same comfort level there they have at Tennessee where Clausen's two other brothers attend or attended. if rivals is false

Yes it will come down to UT-USC but that is Tennessee and Southern Cal. South Carolina chances are slim to none at finishing 50th in that race

But you know that there is no way he will go to USC. besides the fact that his brothers love tennessee, his sister loves tennessee, and his family loves tennessee. I really doubt that he wont come to tennessee.

Honestly, I don't care if Jimmy comes here or not. We will have a good QB regardless...

Rick went to LSU, why couldn't Jimmy go to UT. Ainge will still be at UT and Crompton will likely only be a Sophmore. At SC he would have a much easier time of starting as a freshman, and everyone knows Spurriers system is more QB friendly than Randy Sanders. If you don't think SC has a good shot at Jimmy you are either ignorant or blind. And since yall are UcheaT fans its probably both.

Jimmy also found out it was a mistake to go to LSU and came to tennessee. For you to actually think fulmer will let him slip through his grasp...........................man you are out of your mind. When phil sets his mind to getting a recruit, he gets them. If you didn't find that out this year, than you never will.

When Phat Fulmer $et$ his mind out to get a recruit he usually gets him. But everyone knows SOS is his DADDY on and off the field. I bet that fat bastard won't even have enough balls to show up at Media Days because SOS is going to be there the same day. And if putting his mind to it means PHatimus is going to get something he wants, he must concetrate awfully hard on krispy kream donuts..
