I've never really understood the love affair with Michigan. Call me bias. I know Alabama fans are annoying as all get out, but they have just as much tradition and a willigness to throw gobs of money at a coach just like Michigan does. I think Michigan benefited from timing on the hire of Rich Rod more so than they did on their name.
Michigan in the Big Ten only has one game a year...OSU.
alabama in the SEC has to play Auburn, LSU, TN, FL, GA etc, etc, etc...year in and year out.
and you still get all the prestige, notaritity, exposure and championship shots you want at Mich that you'd get at Bama.
to me, it's a no brainer.
eh....i don't think i'd use the word "reasonable" to describe either of them. let's just "less crazy".Plus the Michigan fans are a bit more reasonable.
yep. all in all this i think RR made a good decision. Not only to have to play them but to compete with them in recruiting. Conditions across the board at Big Blue are much more favorable than Bama.
