(1) The posting does not exclude Dave Serrano
(2) The same posting does exclude Chris Burke

Serrano may not get the job but it appears it's his choice. We are intentionally leaving the door open.

The Burke conversation just got cut off at its knees.

I read that differently, "equivalent experience", wouldn't that include Burke?

I won my fantasy baseball league a couple of years ago...does that make me more qualified than Raleigh was?

"equivalent" level leaves it up to interpretation. The description does NOT exclude Burke. I think Burke is on the outside looking in but there is a gray area.

Couldn't be more obvious who we're gonna hire....every other job posted on the UT AD's site REQUIRES a degree other than baseball

Come on over Dave!

It certainly opens the door for Serrano. If he wants the job, it's his.

His bio lists a bachelors degree from Trinity College & University. Probably an on-line diploma mill. Gets it done though.

Good call wouldn't want to end up with some losers like Tim Corbin or Kevin O'Sullivan.

Or 20 other Leggett disciples with ZERO national titles.

For every O'Sullivan with early success, you have a Todd Raleigh.

How Leggett got the genius legend mantle without doing squat is very 'Obaman'

Someone is going to have to explain to me how Burke has anything remotely close to equivalent coaching experience.

It doesn't say "equivalent coaching experience". It says equivalent experience.

W.Bush qualifies for this job...:)

You adding a period or something:

Head or assistant baseball coaching experience at the collegiate Division I level or equivalent experience required.

Since it is a single sentence, it states coaching experience at the collegiate (or similar) level. It would allow coaches therefore at a pro level perhaps (that is is open to interpretation) but would not allow coaching at no level.

To be fair, George W. Bush is more qualified than Burke. He played college ball (like Burke) but at least was involved in day-to-day management/ownership of a team. - And W has been to more major league games than Burke :)

W. was a cheerleader but owned the Rangers. Herbert Walker played baseball at Yale.

Both could be interpreted as "OR equivalent experience."

Good to see the UTAD lowering the bar to hire a baseball coach. The long journey into becoming a glorified Roane State is nearing its end.

W. appeared as a relief pitcher in 3 games with the '65 freshman baseball team at Yale. H. W. was a team captain at Yale in the 40's. Technically, Frye is correct.
