Danville sits on the VA- NC line.
This was a blunder but there was probably as many people there from NC as VA

Good luck with that. The only reason he won here last cyclle is because minorities were just certain the 40 acres and a mule were in the mail Dec. 1...I. bet they all get out to vote again for a president who didn't cut them a check. I don't think it will be a landslide because Romney lacks charisma. Republicans take NC in november though. Thank God.

North Carolina and Virginia. Romney has really been on fire as of late, the pick of Ryan has really energized him.

Biden also had a freudian slip of referring to GM as the car company of the 20th century (he meant 21st of course but it's actually an accurate statement by him)

Ryan in Ohio Mocks Biden:

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s running mate, mocked Vice President Joe Biden Thursday while campaigning in Ohio, by saying “as Joe Biden might say, it’s great to be here in Nevada.”

Ryan, speaking at a rally at Walsh University in North Canton, said, “It’s great to be here in North Canton, or as Joe Biden might say, it’s great to be here in Nevada.”

Good stuff

Purple Poll: Small post-Ryan bump for Romney - POLITICO.com

Romney and Ryan lead the Obama-Biden ticket by a point (47% to 46%), an improvement from July when President Obama led Romney by
2 points, 47% to 45%.

The Romney-Ryan ticket is fueled by an 11-point advantage among independents. This represents an increase from July, when Romney held a 5-point margin over Obama among that key group

Romney has seen the largest gain in Ohio, a state we have seen bounce between the campaigns over the last few months. Today, the GOP ticket
leads by 2 points (46% to 44%), compared to July when President Obama led the state 48% to 45%.

Romney also gained ground in Virginia — today, he and Paul Ryan hold a 3-point advantage in the race (48% to 45%), while Romney trailed by 2 points in July.

At 45% to 39%, Paul Ryan is the only member of either major party ticket who currently has higher favorables than unfavorables. He is extremely
well-liked among Republicans (80%/9%), and independents have an overall favorable opinion of him (46%/37%).

Election 2012: Florida President - Rasmussen Reports™

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Florida shows Romney earning 45% support to the president’s 43%.

Election 2012: Wisconsin President - Rasmussen Reports™

The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Romney with 48% support to President Obama’s 47%.

Half the American electorate didn't even know who Paul Ryan was prior to his nomination for veep. Give it time.

Aside from that, independents won't matter nearly as much this election. It's about getting the base out, which was mostly happening anyhow given that so many in the GOP base are eager to see Obama out, even if it means voting for the human pair of khakis

At the end of the day, it will be worth a small bump at best. It did put Wisconsin from the light blue column to a solid toss-up, but that will really be about the extent of it come November.

Radford business owner declines Joe Biden's request to stop in store - wdbj7.com

"Crumb and Get It" is a mom and pop store. Literally. Chris and his wife Kelly run the place and need all the business they can get.

McMurray said the Vice President's entourage got to the point and made its pitch.

"She said they have selected 'Crumb and Get It" to be his stop on his way to Blacksburg and was wondering if that was ok."

Here's the part that might make other business owners crazy.

"This is an opportunity of a lifetime but essentially I said 'No offense to you or the campaign but I just decline you guys coming in here. At that time she said 'Are you sure? There's going to be a lot of press, a lot of activity,’" McMurray said.

Why in the world would a new business owner say "no" to a photo op with the Vice President of the United States?

McMurray said it was President Obama's recent remarks about small business and who built what.

"Very simply, ‘you didn't build that’” McMurray said. “Speaking of small businesses and entrepreneurs all across this country and actually last night my wife was up all night. No sleep, she's worked a full 24 hours."

Here's the back story, we’re told that shortly after Crumb and Get It told Biden’s advance people 'no' -- the secret service walked in and told Chris McMurray ''Thanks for standing up and saying 'no' -- then they bought a whole bunch of cookies and cupcakes.

I still think it's about independents, and Romney has a better chance of swaying those guys. Obama has really went full blown far left for this election. He's only hurting himself.
