Doubt Pastner would release him to come here. But, it's certainly a situation to pay attention to. There is a least one thread on the Memphis board claiming he may transfer here and a few saying Arkansas. I guess time will tell.

I posted this elsewhere, but I'm not certain that he is much of an upgrade over Golden at the PG position, considering the knock on Jackson is the knock on Golden; scorer's mentality and out of control.

It would allow Golden to move to his natural postion at SG though.

He would still be an upgrade over the guards we have currently as a whole. Martin would be crazy to turn him down if he wanted to come here.

I'm not saying that CCM wouldn't take him, but I am not under some crazy assumption that Joe Jackson is a cure-all for this team either. He is still an out of control, shoot-first, PG, which is what we have right now.

The main positive to adding a PG that could step in and play from day one would be to allow Golden to move to SG.

I've seen Joe play many of times and the young man is good and he had a good summer with the USA Basketball's U19 squad that played in the FIBA World Championships it's just when he got back to Pastner, he started to fade away. Here is his bio.

Joe is a good kid BUT DEFINITELY NOT ON THE LEVEL OF TALENT WE NEED TO TAKE...That's why Chris Jones ate his lunch when they went head to head....Joe has KILLED the Tigers with his play....just small and makes really bad decisions....plus not sure how good Pastner is at developing talent...
