Sophomore PG from White Station HS in Memphis.

Does anyone know anything about this kid and if Tennessee is recruiting him? I have attended the high school basketball tournament in Murfreesboro this weekend and watched this kid play 2 games. I have heard that he is rated as a top 10 sophomore guard in the country and in 2 games this tournament he has had 24 points and 34 points.

Realize it's early, but what's the low-down on this kid?

He is listed as a top 10 sophomore overall, not just as a guard. I'm sure UT is recruiting him.

Yes, it is the same school. Different head coach now though. Bruce has supposedly seen a lot of White Station games this season. Jackson is rated as the #7 overall player in the sophomore class. He has tremendous potential. His game against Red Bank last night was much more impressive than his Oak Ridge game. He really didnt show up in the Oak Ridge game until the last 4 minutes. But he did dominate the last 4 minutes of that game. He took it to Red Bank from the opening tip.

Correct. I walked in at about halftime of the White Station vs. Oak Ridge game and was told who he was and I was thinking to myself that his numbers weren't that impressive. However in the 4th quarter with his team trailing he completely took over the game and hit a couple of 3s and routinely took the ball to the hole, got the foul, and hit every free throw.

Calipari is definitely going to be all over him. :birgits_giggle:

I got to watch some of Joe's state title game tonight... He was unreal in what I got to watch.. I really hope we get him! Ferrakahn Hall played ok too. I just don't think we go after him with Kenny Hall committed! Does anyone know if White Station beat Ridgeway tonight???

White Station lost to Ridgeway 68-56 in the Class AAA title game. Joe Jackson had 17 points and Ferrakohn Hall had 16 points.

In the Class A title game, Manassas (Memphis) lost to Union City 83-81 who finished undefeated on the year.

In the Class AA title game, Mitchell (Memphis) lost to Fulton 74-68. Ken Torry wen crazy (literally) after fouling out midway through the 4th quarter. He evidently left the building completely and then came back and tried to take the floor again. Sounds like a weird situation. BTW, this is the same guy who put up 48 points on Friday.

Other than Ridgeway, not a great day for the Memphis teams.

Ferrakhon Hall is out of the picture now that we got Kenny Hall. Kenny Hall is a much better player, although Ferrakhon has a lot of potential. Joe Jackson set the state tournament record for consecutive free throws. The White Station team is full of underclassman. You can expect to see them back at State next year, and probably be the favorite.

I watched him play three games at the State tournament. If I was a college coach, I wouldnt want Ken Torry within 5 miles of my program.
