Looks to me about 75 yards from the opposite hash. Unless we are backed up to near our own goal-line this year, we are always in hail mary range. No taking a knee before half, just let Joe launch it as far as he can and see what happens. Absolutely unreal, not sure I have seen anything like it.

Yeah! He appears to have thrown that ball from the 30 yard line around mid-field to at least 5 yards deep in the in zone! If he had thrown that ball straight down the middle of the field that is at least 80 yards!

Rather than it being a Milt hail mary, for him, it's just a long pass play. ( not just a long throw) What they would need is for a spot to be decided on, no one go near it til the ball is thrown, then one (or maybe two) guys break for the spot. (the pass will not be a high lob) Not an everyone go to a place in the end zone and the QB windup a throw it as far as he can.... No for Milt it would be in the range he can call a "long one", not a hail mary!

If he is accurate at all within 20 yards we are gonna be deadly. It’s never been his long ball issue. It’s his short game. If he can make then play close and up to the line to protect slants and crossing routes then his deep ball is gonna kill ‘em.

Where Joe will certainly be deadly to our opposition this year is getting the ball to the parameter on the wideout/flanker screens. He is and has been very accurate throwing to static targets. When the CB's are giving our WR's a 7 yard cushion because they don't have safety help over the top, Joe can throw them a frozen rope from the far hash for an easy 4-5 yard gain and if the DB misses the tackle it may be a TD. He will throw a lot of passes at or behind the LOS that will be the equivalent to long handoffs. He has gotten much better at getting air under the ball on long throws that give our WRs time to get to and adjust to the ball. That was evident as early as the Vandy game. As you say, his touch on slants and crossing routes needs to improve if we are to take full advantage of our TEs. However, he did make two really good over the middle TD throws in the OB, one to McCoy and one to White. That second one to Squirrel he set up nicely with a pump fake. IHO he's going to keep this offense on track. Looking back to the OB, he does need to feel the pressure a bit better and throw the ball away or take off running sooner. "Pocket Presents" as we say on VN. But seeing this continued improvement in other parts of his game, I think that will be better as well.
