As far as I could tell, Dan Patrick just asked him about the movie in his interview. It's not like Montana called a press conference to announce it or wrote a book about it.

Plus if you ever listen to the Free Beer and Hot Wings show, they claim the real Rudy Ruettiger is kind of a jerk. They say he stood them up for interviews 2 or 3 times and the last time called one of them about 5 hours after the interview was supposed to happen and pretty much demanded to do it then and they hung up on him.

I went to Notre Dame during the time when both Joe Montana and Rudy were there. I met both of them and have good things to say about both of them. I am saddenned by the recent entries on the Internet about statements made by Joe and supposed ungracious behavior by Rudy towards reporters. Everyone worked hard at ND whether you were an athlete or non-athlete. I played no sports, but graduated from ND and became a doctor. Athletes like Rudy and Joe Montana, supported my achievements, just as much as I supported theirs. Both Rudy and Joe faced challenges and obstacles to their successes. Rudy's challenges were outlined by the film, but what is lesser known is that Dan Devine didn't particularly like Joe Montana and Joe had to fight extra hard to get his first string spot as quarterback. I congratulate them both. Take it from one who was right there on the sidelines!:yahoo:
