That's how my friend is, we've been together since I have memories. When my sister got shot he drove to the hospital to sit with my parents for me because I was here. He's drove here several times, just to spend a few hours watching football, or going fishing. He stops about once a week to check on my parents, and I'm good to him when they're here. I saved him from jail once. His family was in a bad wreck when we were in high school, and messed his sister's arm up for life. She worked at pizza hut and dropped a plate one night while we were there. The manager, dude about 40, got angry and called her a disabled *****. My buddy lost it, I literally had to drag him outside, he would've killed him probably. So I told him to let me handle it, cause he was too mad. Quick version, I confronted the guy, cops were called on me, we told them what happened, and nothing happened to me.

One positive, she's in a room that has lighthouses on the border. She's doing okay, just high white blood counts still, and a little fever. Miss her being here.

I think that's just a reminder you need to make her lighthouse stand...

Not saying that like I was big and bad, we were out of school then, and it was before my church going days. That was probably the meanest I've been towards someone that didn't directly do anything to me/my wife, or kids personally. I was trying to get the guy to fight, but he wouldn't, and I was smart enough to not go behind the counter. I tried provoking him, and could have, and should have been arrested for what I did, but small town, we knew the cops, and he lived in another county, so nothing happened to me. Just trying to explain a little

Had to kinda wait to post this because it got me at church, and didn't wanna get emotional again. We didn't have our classes tonight, occasionally we'll all stay in the sanctuary and sing, or something. Pastor did a thankful service, just kinda go around and have everyone say something they're thankful for, to help get your mind on good things. He got to my middle girl, and she said she was thankful that her mom was the inspiration and fighter that she was, cause it makes her an inspiration. Idk, it just got to me, but also made me proud of her.

Little hiccup in recovery. She has developed an infection in one of the cuts, her body just isn't normal. Got a fever today, and the Dr wanted to see her. They couldn't get her in to a wound specialist until mid april, so the only way to get her seen for it was to admit her. Hopefully it's just for tonight, but she's currently in the hospital.

Well, didn't come home today, and they said not to get hopeful about tomorrow. Her numbers are still high, and they're still treating the one cut area. I'm worried she's gonna get immune to antibiotics, and then it will be a problem.

Maybe you should while you’re alone. Doesn’t mean you’re weak or not trusting in God.

And I think that you feel better afterwards, the Lord gave us tears for a reason and there is nothing at all wrong with crying

It is not silly saying that at any age. The best friend I ever had took his own life 12 years ago. We hadn’t seen each other in a while, but I still miss him terribly.

That is so sad, sorry that you lost your best friend......

that manager sounds like a loser - I wonder if he ever amounted to anything other than a Pizza Hut mgr ?

Well, not great news. Numbers are still higher than when they admitted her. Not coming home until they figure out the bacteria, and get the numbers down. Blood is good right now, but bad bacteria growing in her urine that they're trying to figure out. Also got a result back on the infection in the wound, one result is positive for ecoli. It was only in the cut though, still one test pending, I assume for staph. Ugh.
